The Kazakhstan athletics championships was held in the past reported month and by the results of it the final list of Kazakhstan national team which will participate the forthcoming Asian Games has been formed.
I would like to list the names of the Club’s athletes who will compete under the Kazakhstani flag in Indonesia during the period from 25th of July till 20th of August. They are: Olga Rypakova, Gulzhanat Zhanatbek, Aigerim Shynazbekova, Viktoriya Zyabkina, Nikita Filippov, Irina Ektova, Nadezhda Dubovitskaya, Mikhail Litvin and Svetalana Golendova.
Also, with the national team of Kazakhstan the coaches of the Club namely Denis Rypakov and Sergey Alekseev are going to Indonesia.
At the same time in July were held the two stages of the Diamond League at which the athletes of the Club participated. In Rabat Olga Rypakova and Caroline Kipkirui both took 8th places, in Monaco Norah Jeruto and Daisy Jepkemei took 5th and 7th places accordingly.
Separately I would like to highlight the continuing participations of Kazakhstani athletes of the Club in European competitions and in competitions of IAAF World Challenge series.
Thus, in July Mikhail Litvin, Viktoriya Zyabkina and Nikita Filippov have participated competitions in Luxembourg, Italy and Brazil. Undoubtfully, the international experience gained by our athletes will have positive effect in future on whole Kazakhstani “Queen of Sport”. At least, we are very hoping on that.
By talking about development of local track and field potential I would like to notice the great feedbacks of Kenyan coaches about Gulzhanat Zhanatbek, who had training camp in Kenyan highlands (2400 m) in first half of summer, and at the end of July again went to Kenya for accurate preparation to Asian Games’ marathon in Indonesia.
A little regret was caused only because of lack of the time she has for full preparation for marathon which will be on 26th of August. About her participation at Asian Games Gulzhanat knew only in the middle of July. Before that news she has been preparing for fall season top marathons.
Nevertheless, the so called marathonist with huge enthusiasm started the training process in Iten city on August 29 under the supervision of coach Kenneth Rotich alongside with Kenyan running masters.
At the beginning of July Norah Jeruto, Daisy Jepkemei, Caroline Kipkirui and Shadrack Koech took a 10 days training camp in Oskemen, during it they shared their running skills with local youth at the “Olga Rypakova” sports center.
At the same time the little break begun in the track and field world, right before the main track events.
At the beginning of August all members of the Republic national team who are representing Altay Athletics are going to Malaysia in order to prepare for the Asiade.
As for the Club the Season will continue from the middle of August, when Caroline Kipkirui will run at the Diamond League in Birmingham.
At the end, I joyfully would like to say, that Caroline Kipkirui, Norah Jeruto and Daisy Jepkemei were qualified to Diamond League finals, which will be held in Zurich August 30, and the next day in Brussels.
