Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan congratulates Kazakhstan's professional club "Altay Athletics"

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan congratulates the Kazakhstani professional club "Altay Athletics" on the victory in the international track and field tournament Golden Spike, held in the Czech city of Ostrava under the auspices of the IAAF World Challenge.

The representative of the club "Altay Athletics" Kenyan Norah Jeruto came first in the race at a distance of 3000 meters with obstacles, setting a new record for the tournament. With a phenomenal result of 9:11.33 minutes, she by passed her eminent rivals, among which were 10 current world champions and seven winners of the best results in the world this year.

Another representative of the Kazakhstani club Daisy Jepkemei also showed a brilliant result and came to the finish of the third with a result of 9:23.70 minutes. 19 athletes from Hungary, Germany, Denmark, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Poland, Slovenia, Uganda, France, the Czech Republic and Ethiopia took part in the race.

Professional sports club of international level "Altay Athletics" was created on the initiative of the Athletics Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, following the example of one of the leading European clubs with almost a century of history.

The club aims to further develop and popularize the "queen of sport", prepare athletes for the national team of Kazakhstan and promote the positive image of our country abroad.

To date, it includes the strongest athletes of Kazakhstan, including the Olympic champion Olga Rypakova, as well as four foreign representatives from Kenya.
