At a presentation held in Ust-Kamenogorsk on November 3rd, Akim of the East Kazakhstan region Daniyal Akhmetov told why the first professional athletic club Altay athletics was created in the country and what tasks are set for its trainers and sportsmen.

"Dear residents of our region, I am very pleased that many children are present here," said Danial Akhmetov. - Children are the future of our nation, this is the future of our Kazakhstani society. All of us are united not only by one country, but by one great destiny and we associate it with the future of our country. And this future is not only in the economy, not only in culture. This future, of course, is also what we call sport. Sport is a national treasure. It's great that in our Altay athletics club already there are athletes who have achieved great successes in the "Diamond League" competitions in 2017, to which the best athletes from all over the world are invited to perform. And the members of our club won gold, silver and bronze medals at these competitions! Of course, each of our athletes is our pride. And the leader of Altay athletics Olga Rypakova is our national pride, our national treasure.

We are now proud of the successes of our athletes, and are confident that there will be new victories. We want, that on an example of our remarkable sportsmen, our future team of the Olympic Games-2020 in Tokyo was forged and prepared. I congratulate everyone on the creation of our professional athletics club "Altay athletics". We want the brand "Altay" to be recognized, we know, that it is known all over the world. I am sure that this will happen. We have created a club "Altay" in different sports and I am sure that in each of them our athletes will succeed!
